Cheap Cheeks

Hello my lovelys!

As you can tell by the title, today's post is all about the affordable blush. I was never really a blush fanatic when I got started with makeup, but I quickly discovered it is the quickest way to make your complexion look healthy and glowing a la Jennifer López or  Blake Lively.

With that said there are TONS of options when it comes to blushes especially within the 'high end' spectrum. Cult favorites such as NARS 'orgasm' and the Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hr (don't know why these companies give such long names) blushes, but if you are looking for a more affordable, yet great quality option look no further than the Milani Baked Blushes.

I was first introduced to these bad boys a few months ago when my fellow beauty bloggers couldn't stop raving about the shade 'Luminoso.' I rushed like a maniac to the drugstore to pick it up. Didn't even wait to get home to rip it open (yeah I was that excited) and as soon as I swiped it on my cheeks I was hooked! These blushes are so worth the hype. (not that they are expensive, quite the opposite). Because they have that "baked" appearance (hence the name of course) and "swirls" of golden shimmer running through them, they are just absolutely gorgeous!

When you first swatch them on your hand you think they're going to be too shimmery, so don't be alarmed. On the cheeks however, they give an amazing wash of color, and the shimmer just makes your face glow as if you were in a Beyoncé music video. I cannot say enough good things about these blushes: great pigmentation, the perfect amount of shimmer, and cheap...the trifecta!

'Dolce Pink'. The most perfect universal pink that will look great on any skin tone and go with any type of look. Even if you're not a make up kind of gal or can't be bothered to spend time on it, swipe a little bit of this on your cheeks (it will just take a second) and you'll look effortlessly radiant and sun-kissed.

The cult classic 'Luminoso'. (In my opinion ten times better than Benefit Coralista) An amazing peachy-coral shade perfect for more fair and olive skin tones.

'Berry Amore'. Amore indeed! I LOVE this one, mostly because it is a great dupe for one of my favorite blushes ever, NARS 'Sin'. I also adore it because on my skin tone (olive) it resembles the exact same color I get whenever I go to the beach. Just a perfect 'rosie-flushed' shade.

If you want to try any of these, you can pick them up at your nearest Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, you name it. Hope this post was helpful for you guys, and don't forget to tag me in any pictures (links are down below) if you decide to try them; I'd love to know/see how they look on you!

Nice to meet you

Hello to you my wonderful reader, I say "reader" because I'm pretty sure there's only one of you out there for now (Hi mom!) and that's ok.
For those of you slowly, but surely, discovering my blog, for starters "Nice to meet you!" My name is Keyla (pronounced kay-la). Just your average recent college grad, who like many other college grads, still hasn't landed a job in her profession. Go figure! What I have found though, is a profound, slightly-possibly-maybe, unhealthy love for, you guessed it.... makeup. Actually, not just makeup, but skincare and haircare as well.
Since I have this new found (about a year and a half now) obsession and my days basically consist of Netflix (no shocker there) and a part-time job (I have to quench my makeup thirst somehow) I've decided to start this lil' old blog. A fun relaxing space where I can share with all my fellow beauty enthusiats out there (or anyone just starting off in makeup) all the knowledge I've gained about this very much important topic: some of my 'all-time-favorite-holy-grail-products',
Just a small preview of the goodies...

my 'don't-even-think-about-spending-a-dime-on-this-crap' products, my tips and tricks, reviews of new products out there, and honestly just a relaxing space to talk about all these girly things, so my friends don't get annoyed with me yapping about this  all the time.
Being that this is a blog (duh), it is a 2-way street. Meaning that I really want to interact with anyone out there reading, so please feel free to comment, like, share, make suggestions for any future post you'd like to see, ask questions, make product recommendations, and even criticism is welcome. In relation to that last part: As a close friend has always told me, "Say what you mean but don't be mean" (cheesy, but you get my drift).

To end off my first ever post I'd like to leave you with the links herehere, and here to some of the  beauty blogs that inspired and motivated me to start my own.
Thanks for reading!
